Flowers From Our Yard: About Face Rose

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

About Face is one of our favorite roses. It is prolific and the color is beautiful. The most interesting thing about this rose -- the reason for its name -- is that the darker color is on the outer side of the petal while the lighter color is on the inner side. Most roses are the opposite.

Beautiful, I'm just curious but does the white rose grow there. The national flower of Jacobite Scotland.

Fascinating!! I thought it looked rather antiqued somehow, maybe this is why.

I'm especially fond of orange blossoms. I think they look fabulous in just about anyone's gardens - all orange or mixed with other colours. :)

Lovely George!
That black background is perfect. It makes the rose really stand out.

A beauty alright, George. I miss not being able to grow roses in our new location but trading in all my giant oak trees for a few roses just wasn't doable.... :)

My balcony is too small to grow a rose, but I think I will attempt growing one.
