The temperatures are cooler during the days and especially at night. Hopefully as we move more into October we will see more color on the mountain sides. This picture was taken in early October several years ago on Black Mountain, which is near our home.<p></p>Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06923630536753873113noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718525857624096218.post-54191849915557949002020-09-07T23:38:00.001-07:002020-09-07T23:38:01.202-07:00Flamenco Rose<p></p><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><br /><p></p><p></p><div style="text-align: left;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmlcjq95b4f5Qo-tiqAtu9_d3j833rVpCYuOr7dDct8HSzXverGgT_hdaUsanwD_h-47sFkyYiN80UiSFUmYwhzDXBx1kdzd51EO2feMso1tN3N6bZaXnLDFvPtpzvYP3FdBV2A-1tDkT3/s2048/RoseFlamenco19060101.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1365" data-original-width="2048" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmlcjq95b4f5Qo-tiqAtu9_d3j833rVpCYuOr7dDct8HSzXverGgT_hdaUsanwD_h-47sFkyYiN80UiSFUmYwhzDXBx1kdzd51EO2feMso1tN3N6bZaXnLDFvPtpzvYP3FdBV2A-1tDkT3/w400-h266/RoseFlamenco19060101.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /> </div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;"></div><div style="text-align: left;">(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. The store, often called “The World’s Leading Luxury Department Store”, is in a building which is imposing both day and night. We explored the first floor of Harrods when we visited our daughter who was studying in London for a semester during her college career.<br /><br />I got this picture, taken as a slide in 1993, when we walked past Harrods one evening at dusk. Recently I scanned the slide and cleaned up the image. This is the result, which I think makes a pretty picture. <br /></p>Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06923630536753873113noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718525857624096218.post-70119322085567961352020-07-28T01:35:00.000-07:002020-07-28T01:35:00.290-07:00Dawn's Early Light<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Betsy and I celebrated Betsy’s birthday this year by going up to Virginia along the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyland Drive. One of our favorite places when we are in that part of Virginia is Skyland Resort, which is right on Skyline Drive. From the balcony of our room we were able to look down into the Shenandoah Valley. This is the view we had one of the mornings we were there.<br />

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. It is often overlooked since it can be seen from the same viewing platform as the larger Cane Creek Falls. Rockhouse Falls is behind anyone looking at the larger waterfall, but I think it is worthwhile to turn around to see this beauty as well. This photo was taken in April of this year.<br />

We stopped at an overlook that gave us this nice view of the lake and mountains.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06923630536753873113noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1718525857624096218.post-79456278448505220662019-04-23T01:39:00.000-07:002019-04-23T01:39:08.242-07:00A Very Special Place<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Fall Creek Falls State Park here in Tennessee is a very special place for Betsy and me. It wasn’t the site of our first date, but it was the site of our first kiss. We’ve been to many wonderful places since then, but we manage to get back to Fall Creek Falls close to April 21 each year to celebrate that wonderful date. <br />

In some ways it’s hard to believe that first kiss was 18 years ago, but we do enjoy going back to recreate the magic of that day. This photo of Piney Falls in the park was taken several years ago.Georgehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06923630536753873113noreply@blogger.com13
