The Sequatchie Valley

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

This picture of the Sequatchie Valley was taken from an overlook on Signal Mountain near Dunlap, Tennessee. The morning was misty and rainy, but the skies had started to clear when I took this picture. The Cumberland Plateau was still shrouded by clouds.

When enlarged, it is amazing to see all the detail in this shot George. The trees are so colorful and the patch of blue sky is so pretty. I hope you and Betsy have a nice weekend.

And they say the Smokey Mountains got their name because the fog and clouds rising looked just like smoke. I love our mountains!

We drive through your area on our way to visit our son and wife in Nashville. I have always thought what a magnificent place to live. It is nice to have an insiders view. Beautiful image thanks for sharing.

I love fog pictures, and I count at least three layers of sky there! Your red leaves below are great, and SUCH an unusual Iris, so pretty!

It looks like the clouds are 'tucked' into those valleys!!

They are really impressive the clouds that dominate the highlands!

P.S. The storm is lashing the country and my own along with the Calabria Veneto regions have unfortunately count the loss of lives and extensive damage to the population,hi George

I like the different layers of the clouds. Sorry your roses have gone.

Do you just prune the branches, and next year they will coeme out again?
