Flowers From Our Yard: Chicago Peace Rose

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

I grew up near Chicago and have always thought that the downtown of that city is beautiful. Chicago Peace is a bi-color rose in our yard which is beautiful, especially in the morning light.

I have family in chicago and its a great city.I still remember visiting lincoln park zoo.
They had this great stuffed bear to take pics with, a huge turtle, and a monkey in a cage with a sign in front saying don't come near the cage.A boy could not read I guess. He put his face to the netting and got punched in the nose.He flew back a good two feet.
It was one of those funny but horrible events in life. You can't help but laugh but feel sorry for the boy. That must have been a broken nose for sure.

This is such a beautiful rose-- It is so nice to have bits of our past in our yards. I have a rose called "Buffalo Gal" that reminds me of where I am from. That and my willow tree. Thanks as always for stopping by my place. I hope you have had a wonderful summer! xo teri

"Chicken-in-the-car-and-the-car-won't-go"...that's the way you spell Chicago! Been to the southern edge of the city only (in the car) and to/thru the airport a few times.
