Cumberland Mountain Dam

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

The dam and bridge at Cumberland Mountain State Park near Crossville, Tennessee, is the largest masonry project built by the Civilian Conservation Corp.  The seven-arch bridge carries the road over the dam.

There must be different but interesting stories in each of the arch.

George that is a super shot of the bridge and the shadows. You should put it on Shadow Shot Sunday 2. I have been to many places in Tennessee, but do not remember ever being in Crossville. Maybe someday I can see the beauty surrounding you in person.

This is a beautiful picture and also timeless I think. It could be in Medevil times.

A beautiful bridge. I'm guessing the water from the dam falls away on the other side of the bridge. The reflections are lovely and it looks like a peaceful place. I would like to be on that bridge too and get a different perspective from there over the other side of it.

The new header is wonderful. Makes me feel like spring even though we are not having it. The bridge is quite a engineering marvel. You took a good picture of it.
