Icy Trees

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

As a general rule I dislike ice more than I dislike snow.  Ice on roads is definitely dangerous, and ice on trees can often cause problems.  But sometimes ice on trees can be beautiful.  I got this photo of tree tops across the street from our house on a January afternoon last year.

The light shinning through the ice and reflecting off of the ice makes a unique sculpture.

Yes, ice is not good for anyone. It does make for pretty pictures though.

The only time ice is beautiful is when the sun is shining through, the rest of the time it's dangerous!

Good photo, George!

Snow decorates your life.

Ice can create a beautiful crystal like look on trees. However, if I had a choice, I would go with snow. We had the worst ever ice storm here last month, I hope I never see that again.

Great looking trees. A silver decoration in place.

lol I lived in Montreal and we had SOOOOO much snow every ear and yet I remeber using the bus in these piles of snow and they never stopped and people never complained. We loved the snow and loved the shoveling, snow man making, snow forts, snow ball fighting. Every one had smiles and rosy cheeks.
It was part of life for both the young and the old.Today people are wooses including me. we always complain even with small things like black ice but I never saw as many people back then with knee and back problems like I do today.
Here every second person is affected by something.

Hi George, the iced trees certainly look beautiful and it look like crystals. But ice on the road is very dangerous.

Take care and best regards.
