Rose of the Week: Double Delight

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

This is another in the series featuring a rose from our yard.

This week's rose is one that is probably my all-time favorite -- Double Delight.  Double Delight has both beautiful colors and a wonderful fragrance.  It was one of the first roses we got when we started growing roses here in the Glade, and it is one we look forward to enjoying each year.

I can understand why this rose is a favourite because of the different shades of red and pink and the beautiful fragrance.

Another perfect picture, George. I love the large rose alongside the bud. Red on the outside and white inside, wonderful.

This is beautiful. I had a bush of Peppermint Roses, but a rogue wild rose bush of some kind took over the bush and choked out the pretty ones. Another rogue bush is now invading my Oklahoma Red rose bush and doing the same thing. I have no idea how these rogue bushes got into my regular rose bushes.

George, I love the duo colors of this rose, it's just beautiful. Is this naturally how they grow or where they made to be these colors by mixing breeds of roses?

Absolutely gorgeous! I too had a double colored rose once in our flower pot.

I wish we could have smell internet so I could smell the fragrance.

It's a lovely rose. I sometimes lean in to smell a flower and find it a little disappointing when there is very little fragrance. But that is a double blessing I ought not take for granted.
