South Sea Day Lily

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

The flower bed nearest the road in front of our house contains roses, lilies, day lilies and irises.  The day lilies are all re-bloomers, so we get to enjoy them throughout the growing season.  This day lily, South Sea, is one of the bright day lilies in this bed.

Very nice daylily photo. I do love the new varieties but my spouse is not a fan. "They don't last as cut flowers", she says. "But that why they call them daylilies" is my only reply....:)

I like how this particular shot shows both smooth and serrated edges on the petals. This flower also has an interesting color-tone that I find very appealing.

I am reminded that our day lilies will be blooming in a couple of weeks. That is a beautiful flower. I like them because they take so little care. I planted a couple of new ones this year and I realize now that they were the Asiatics and not day lilies. I will be sharing mine when the finally bloom.

You are way ahead of us. My peonies are just starting to fade. It will be July or August before my daylilies bloom. Very pretty, George!
