Sempervivum

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

We have sempervivum (hens and chicks) several places in our yard.  They require very little care and grow where almost nothing else will grow.  They bring some beauty and color to what would otherwise be drab places around the house.

I have a nice little pot of these. I love them as they take care of themselves.

My MIL gave me some of these three decades ago and I managed to kill them, three decades ago. *sigh

I like the color in the tips. Are they shade or sunshine plants?

These are healthy and pretty George! I think it was Betsy who posted some on Facebook and they were awesome, the best I have seen from you in many years.

Your planting looks like it is doing well. I have some that just haven't established themselves. Mine are a different color.

I do like the Hens and Chicks. My daughter in Eastern Washington has them here there and I guess everywhere. MB

Aren't they wonderful My venus fly trap is doing well too.:)
The hibiscus lost all the leaves but is more than making up for it now. I never saw them lose leaves like that before.

I love hen and chicks and wish I'd remember to start some other than in pots. I believe they have fair chances of wintering in protected locations here for us. And they're perfectly charming. :)

I've always been a fan of those in the yard. Never knew the latin name . . . I think I'll stick with Hens and Chicks ;-)

How lovely. They grow well, and are easy to care for.

I love their textures and contrasts.
