Rose of the Week: Summer Surprise

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

This is another in the series featuring a rose from our yard.

Summer Surprise was one of our new roses this year.  As you can see, it’s a beautiful rose, but it is prolific and the blossoms hold their form and color a long time.  This rose has quickly become one of our favorites.

It's a beautiful rose, George.

Hope you two are not working too hard in the yard this week. Take care.

I do not know how you pick a favorite. You do not grow anything but beauties. I have a few still blooming, but nothing like this.

It is a pretty pink, then for me the surprise is the burst of yellow inside! Really, I think it is a yellow rose that is trimmed in pink!

The color contrasts make for an incredibly dramatic presentation. This would be one of my favorites, too!

It looks like a great addition to your collection. I need to get my roses covered with leaves before the really hard long freeze hits. I accidentally bought a T rose that won't survive the winter no matter what.

Lovely bloom, George. Love the color. I love all the plants and birds that Betsy and you highlighted in both your blogs.

Hi George, wow... that's a amazing rose from your yard. The colour is so lovely, wish I can smell the rose fragrant scent.

Thank you for your kind thought re the Tennessee autumn leaves. I would certainly love to have some to add to my collection. Those leaves are great for art and crafts :))

Have a great week ahead,regards.
