Along the Rim Trail

The picture above was taken this past Thursday on the Rim Trail of Mt. Nebo State Park in Arkansas. We had an icy rain for most of the day, but it slackened during the afternoon. I decided to take a short hike from the cabin to the waterfall on Mt. Nebo. Along the way I came across this tree coated in ice. The lighting is not good, but I think you can see the ice if you enlarge the picture.

Wow, that's a fascinating image! And beautiful in its way. Thanks for taking a picture of it, George. You know that we never experience snow or ice, so this was a real treat.

Trees covered in ice are always a really beautiful sight! This winter we had a few days of frost on which the trees and bushes were all covered by hoarfrost, which was absolutely like a fairy tale. You did well to take this photo!
Thanks for your visit.

It definately needed enlarging to appreciate the beauty of those frozen branches with the lovely backdrop of rolling hills.

Ice always looks so pretty on the trees. Too bad it can to so much damage to them.
Great Shot!!

I keep wondering where the poor birds hang out when the trees and shrubs are all coated with ice like this. Great shot though. Beautiful! The only ice storms I've personally witnessed was in South Dakota years ago. I dared to walk - slip, slide, and stumble - to the corner grocery store and back. I survived! Glad you had a memorable vacation!
