The Sinks
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
The Sinks in the Smokies is where Little River drops 10 feet over sandstone bedrock. There is a large, natural pool below the cascades which is a popular summer swimming hole.
Hi George, Sorry I have not been by, I have bin under the weather for a while now, I saw below you have been to the Great Wall , that is awesome. I saw it on a tv show. I was amazed at all the areas that people lived while it was in use.
George has left a new comment on your post "Ontario Winter Games": Canadians obviously are very serious about their winter games. Ah yes, George. When the Universe sends snow, we go out and play! A whole new world out there each day!
The lighting is really wonderful, especially when you enlarge the photo...so many details are revealed. Very nice spot indeed! Thanks for your visit to my RT. Enjoy the day.

Very pretty. I wonder if the sandstone is wearing so that the drop is getting shallower every year.
What a beautiful place. It's no wonder why it's popular during summertime.
