Our First View of the Painted Desert

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

The first stop in Arizona while on our trip west was the Petrified Forest National Park. After stopping at the Painted Desert Visitor Center, we drove to Tiponi Point, where we got our first view of the beautiful Painted Desert.

Great shot George, also love the line drawing too.

Beautiful! But again, the sky interests me more! I guess I really have a thing about that! But the whole picture looks like it was taken with some kind of telephoto lens or something, the sky just goes on ahead forward forever, you can see it way ahead, you know what I mean? The same for the desert, a very unusual effect!

It looks so beautiful!
I hope I get a chance someday to see it for myself.
I've scrolled down and WOW that was a lot of snow. I like snow but they might be a little much for me on a regular basis. :)

Absolutely beautiful !
So serene, yet it can be a brutal place without the right equipment.
Love that sky !

the desert, looks lovely, esp from your photo, but can be deadly. I have been watching too many "I shouldn't be alive shows."

This is a beautiful image and that deep blue sky certainly adds color, contrast and interest. I quite enjoyed the line drawing also.
