The Glory of Autumn

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

This photo comes from my archives, but I like it because it shows the glory of autumn up here on the Cumberland Plateau. The picture was taken in 2006 on a hike along Byrd Lake in Cumberland Mountain State Park near Crossville, Tennessee.

I haven't been far from the house lately, but we're still green. I love seeing the colors others are getting.

It may be from the archives, but it is well worth looking at again. Fall lasts for such a short time,so this is a welcome picture.

An oldy but goody? I can see why you'd feature this photo again--defines golden autumn.

BTW, appreciate your comments about "natural" VS "enhanced" shots. Agree with you that straight out of the camera is usually the best. Also, a sign of a good photographer--which I'm not yet. :-)

The glory indeed...because the photo is majestic! The colors, the leaves on (?)in(?) the water, the branches touching the water...and the reflections...the yellow and the blue (sky)...seams like an oil painting! Breathtaking, George!
