The View from Newfound Gap

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit the Smoky Mountains. Although the mountains and the sky are always spectacular, the autumn color of the trees is something that has to be seen to be believed.

This photo was taken two years ago at Newfound Gap on the Tennessee - North Carolina border. I can't decide what is more spectacular -- the autumn color in the foreground, the sky, or those mountains marching off into the distance.

The mountains, the sky, and the amazing colors all go together to make this perfect picture. None of the three would be as stunning without the others.

That area is pretty anytime of the year. I forgot to tell you, I really like the color you painted your house with. Such a pretty shade of green. Really made a difference.

▒✿ Olá, amigo!
Gosto de paisagens de outono porque parecem pinturas a óleo.

You are correct about wondering which view is more spectacular. I am glad we don't have to decide but can enjoy them all. I like the angle and character of the mountain ridge that is just behind your foreground ridge.

The south eastern hills are so beautiful. Especially in the fall.

All that makes up this grandeur--makes this such a stunning photo. Love the layered sky and that one strong evergreen on the left punching up into the skyline.
