The Blue Ridge Parkway is an enchanting drive any time, even when the weather is not perfect. We drove the Parkway in 2010 to celebrate Betsy's birthday, and stopped at the Devil's Backbone Overlook in Virginia. The Devil's Background is almost lost in the distant clouds, but the valley below is still beautiful.

Such a beautiful photo, George. You two have enjoyed some gorgeous scenery over the years. Thanks for sharing with us.
What a lovely view to admire. It looks like heavens.
Widok jest faktycznie cudowny. Pozdrawiam.
The view is really wonderful. Yours.
Yes George, even with some mist, it is a lovely shot and view.
Beautiful view and a lovely photo, George!
There's no end to the beauty of God's creation! Blessed are you to be able to enjoy it and capture it on film!
You are right, George. In this shot, the valley below outshines the mountains!
What a perfect spot to look out and see miles and miles of beauty. Glad you are back.
A beautiful valley as always. Speaking of Devils we just returned from North Dakota where we visited a town and lake of the same name....:)
by backbone feels like the devil today, does that count? it is a beautiful spot.
It sure is. You and Betsy have some breath taking memories.
Wish her a Happy Birthday and add many hugs and kisses.
Such a beautiful view! I'd sure like to be driving the Blue Ridge right now.
The Parkway is a wonderful place for these panoramic views.
Love the header shot!!!
Must have been an enchanting and scenic drive . Beautiful picture George :)
This is a lovely scene. The fog only adding to the beauty.
Lovely! I understand that right now the overlooks and services on the parkway are closed due to the government "shutdown," but the road itself is open. Skyline Drive, however, is closed to traffic. ;-(
What a name! It got me curious! Great shot!
I remember goring through the Blue Ridge Parkway quite a few years ago with my husband. It really was a beautiful sight to see. Very nice b-day present for your lovely wife a few years ago!
I love your mountains. Would love to take that drive with you.
Lovely Capture...
A spectacular view down into the valley and across to the other side. A good way to celebrate that birthday in 2010!
What a beautiful view.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi George, thanks for always visiting my posts.
I wonder why this is called such, there's a lot of names for titles, why do they have to use that name.
What a beautiful scene. I think the mist really adds to its charm.
Absolutely gorgeous....what a breathtaking view!
George, I LOVE this one, I visited there as a kid and brings back memories. I remember being there doing a bad thunderstorm....Is that common there?
