Pier At Sunrise

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

Betsy and I got up each morning we were at the beach in order to watch the sunrise.  I captured this photo on our last morning as we were loading up the car to head home.  The sun had not yet popped up over the horizon, but I really liked the colors in the sky.  The pier and the reflections in the sand were a nice bonus.

I wish I was seeing such a sight today, but covered in snow. We really got a lot last night.

Absolutely gorgeous... I'll admit that it made me cry since I wish I were there and not here --with all of the ice/sleet.... NOT FUN... BUT--the photo and our memories of the beach also made me smile. Thanks for sharing the beauty...

Love you,
Wifey

Spectacular, George!!!
My favorite moments of sunrise/sunset are the magical lighting while the sun is below the horizon. Moments worth waiting (or waking!) for.

Wow, wow, wow! Great shot of a gorgeous sunrise, George! Hope your birthday was awesome! I meant to tell you that when we were feeding the baby hummingbirds, mama's return warranted a very angry tirade towards us at the glass door. For one reason, because I was afraid the babies would freeze in the cold nights without mama to keep them warm, I hung a sock over the nest. She came home to see the sock, and was NOT happy! :-) I removed it and we left them alone after that. She seemed to stay for the duration, and it's always been a mystery as to where she went for almost two days! The Desert Museum said that they sometimes start a second nest, but then the OTHER eggs or babies were not getting enough of her time after she returned. I just don't know.
