Chicago Peace Rose

I grew up in northwestern Indiana where Chicago was 'The City'. I never thought of Chicago as being particularly peaceful, but this rose, Chicago Peace, is definitely beautiful.

I bet it smells divine too. Did you see that silly Betsy in all of the bubbles? I didn't comment on her blog about it, I was waiting to tell you. She is something else, bet she keeps you going all the time.

The rose is gorgeous. Love the water droplets on the petals.
Right off hand, the name might be considered an oxymoron...

This is a popular hardy rose. Pretty much the only roses that do well where I live are Explorers ( a series developed in Ottawa), Parkland and/or Morden (developed in Manitoba, Canada) rugosas and carpet roses. You can grow such a nice variety.
