Meigs Falls

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Meigs Falls is the only waterfall in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park that can be seen from the road.  The picture above was taken from a pullout on Little River Road between Townsend and Gatlinburg.  It's good that the pullout provides good views, since no trail to the waterfall exists.

Are there glow worms swhere the falls are? Where I went and photographed the mushrooms, they hace glow worms at the base of the fall, that is why we are not allowed go to the water.

Your falls are so tempting especially inSummer.

So lucky. Most of the falls I have seen need a long trek. :)

I love how the water cascades down the rocks. Too bad there isn't a trail.

Re: Pestle and Mortar, I am amazed your mum cooked with garlic. Even 30 years ago when i first arrived in New Zealand, Europeans did not like garlic, unless they were Italians. Now everybody eats them.

It's a beauty, and so nice that this one is visible from the road. Those unable to hike can at least have one waterfall to enjoy.
