Machine Falls

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Sometimes the water going over a waterfall is more like a trickle (or series of trickles) than a stream. Machine Falls is one of those waterfalls, but Betsy and I had a nice winter day's hike to reach it.

Is there a machine hiding behind to control the water going over like a trickle than a stream?

Very pretty photo George. It looks especially cold though. In my college days, we would hike to waterfalls in winter also but I'm not sure I could handle the cold weather now!!!!! Thanks for sharing such a pretty waterfall.

This one is real unusual, and clicking shows the moss under the water. It almost like a big flat sheet of water. And you know I have to ask about the Machine part, the strangest name for a waterfall that I've ever heard.

That is sooo very pretty! Isn't it nice to have the pictures to pull out when we are surrounded by snow?

Much like a lovely veil-hiding the green moss. Good for you hiking in the winter--

Great shot, George! When I first read your title, I thought some machine had gotten too close to a precipice in this snow and fell off the cliff! ☻

This is such a pretty waterfall the way the water falls, it would be spectacular frozen. Happy New Year to both you & Betsy.

I enjoy watching water fall gently as much as falling like the water over Niagara Falls.

I like how the trickle of water spreads out to cover such a wide area.
