Drawing from a Photo: Cumberland Mountain State Park

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I'm still experimenting with the conversion of photographs into line drawings. Most of the time I prefer the photo, but I do find the drawings interesting. I guess that goes back to my complete lack of drawing talent.

When Betsy's youngest son came up for the day earlier this month, we took him to Cumberland Mountain State Park near Crossville for dinner. The seven arch bridge over the dam forming Lake Byrd is a distinguishing feature of this park. I like both the picture above and and the drawing made from it.

Beautiful reflections, excellent symmetry of the bridge, a large frame.

The reflection is awesome in both the photo and the "drawing."

The reflections are beautiful in both. It's fascinating to see the photo changed into a drawing.

I love these experiments, remember I asked if you would do maybe one a week? Because it's just fascinating to me to see which ones don't look as good and ones that look better than the photo, you just never know, and I don't know what makes the difference. With this one I like your photo better because of the more intense color and distinct reflection.

George, you are just getting too smart with your camera. I love seeing the things you share anyone you do them.

I sure like what you did with this. Very nice. The "drawing" highlights the architectural delicacy of this bridge.
