Mountains of Northern China

The picture above shows the mountains of China north of Beijing. The picture was taken from the Great Wall in June, 1990. This was originally a slide which I scanned, so the quality is not great. But I found it amazing that the wall could be built through such mountainous terrain.

Magnificent!

I once watched a historical documentary about the construction of the Great Wall. It was horrendous.
