Autumn in the Smokies
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
This past Tuesday Betsy and I drove Newfound Gap Road through the Smokies from Tennessee to North Carolina. This picture was taken at an overlook near Chimney Tops.
Looks like the leaves are getting close to their peak, the colors as always, breathtakingly beautiful. I've looked at Betsy's pictures of your new friends, it certainly looks like the four of you had a grand time .... Elk ! Yikes.
so eautiful and the trails from the plane stand out in the clear blue over the bright orange making for a super duper shot of clear color. makes me want to SEE all this
I envy you and Betsy. I wish I had someone to travel with me and still see some of the beauty in our country. Glad you had a safe trip and back in blog country.
Enjoy George. This is the best time of the year to enjoy. The scenery is on fire, all aglow, waiting for the deep sleep so it can awake to a bright new dawn and rebirth. Lovely.:)
What a beautiful fall display the mountains were wearing, the colors are spectacular, George. You and Betsy had a great time on that beautiful fall ride.
