Look at that Headgear

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I had to use my telephoto lens to get this picture of this bull elk in the Cataloochee Valley of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. But those antlers were just begging to be photographed.

I have taken the picture of a bug with antennae that resembles your deer horns.

I would say from the size of this elk, you had better use a lens. He is really a big one. My son would loved to have seen that. He is avid hunter.

From the title, I was expecting a photo of me at 15 with all my braces!
That guy is quite impressive.

He is amazing! Don't the females have braces, too?

What a thrill to spot such a big Elk. Nice shot with your telephoto, George. Its the kindest way to shoot any animal.

Photographing an Elk is something definite on my bucket list.
Love you totally appropriate title.
Your last few photos are simply gorgeous and I love the gold leaves and red leaves.
I tried to catch up with you and Betsy and Neal - looks like it was a terrific trip. :)

Those antlers are magnificent! God did some spectacular things with HIS creation, didn't HE? However, when you look at those antlers, does it make your neck or head ache thinking about carrying all that extra weight?

I like to have a telescope lens when I go to the bush and take photos.

Here in New Zealand, they organise Americans to come on expensive helicopter deer hunting. They say they can't do it in USA, so they don't mind spending lots of money to hunt the red deer here.
