Looking Out to Sea

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Many beach communities have learned that dunes can provide some protection in case of a hurricane.  The sea oats in this picture are protecting the dunes at Sunset Beach, North Carolina.  The access path to the beach gave a nice view over the dunes out to sea.

That's an awesome view of the NC beach. I also love the dogwood berries in your header photo with the sun shining on them.

view in this picture is very beautiful, with green grass plus the clear sea water ... The first new look at this

The view is great, but I wonder whether I can find roses on the beach.

our weather is warming up, soon we will be heading to the beach.

You are right able protecting the beach. I was in Australia and they were doing this, requesting people not to walk on the part where they are rejuvenating the beach.

BTW, have you headed Down Under and come to visit New Zealand?

O.K. George I'm going to give you a break today because I know you have lots of raking to do. So I won't even ask my daily question, which WOULD have been why on earth they are called oats. Love the header!!

We live and learn! Nature has its way of protecting our earth if we would just leave it alone. Thanks for visiting my "ranch."

That picture would be pretty on the front of notecards. It would be a souvenir I would buy at a gift shop.

I used to love to swim where the grasses and weeds were under water.
You find so much of the water world in there.:)

It is always a pristine look and just what I think every coast line should look like. Sadly development dictates otherwise.
Lovely shot George!

Being a landlubber from the Upper Midwest the oceans have always intimidated me. Still this beautiful scene looks pretty safe. :)

I love these dunes, especially at this time because I'm not very busy, watching the horizon often think fondly of you blogger friends who were on the other side.

P.S. Hello George, thank you for the condolences of my countrymen have died in Afghanistan

The dunes are so pretty, good for not only storm protection, but for the nesting birds.
I love the angle of your photos, showing dunes and the sea.
