Chocolate Satin

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Muddy water flowing down a creek doesn't usually present a pretty picture. But I shot this photo just above Clay Creek Falls in Dahlonega, Georgia, last week after a heavy rain. The water makes me think of billowing chocolate-colored satin.

If you wouldn't have said it was water, I might still be staring at this beautiful picture trying to figure out what it is! I LOVE this shot!
Have a fabulous day!

Yikes. Chocolate is good but.... being a long time canoeist that looks more scary to me. :)

Beautiful but dangerous looking water. Wouldn't want to get to close to that fast moving water.

I'm not sure I would have known what this is if you hadn't said! I love pictures like this, where you really can't tell what they are so that they are impressionistic. This is rather like abstract art. Very pretty, and I would have said billows of fabric.

Wonderful shot, George. I like taking pictures of moving water. It never turns out like I think it should. Great job. MB

The white part makes it look like snow, the brown part, dirty snow when people tramp on it.

Certainly does George.
Our Fraser is like this and that's because it is full of soil. Must be eroding something somewhere lol

Great image George! And by the responses I see here you have created quite a stir with this shot. Were you sitting in the water? Thanks as always for your kind comments over at my place- I feel so out of touch.

While this does look like a ribbon of chocolate and is beautiful, it's also scary to see the force of that water!
