Drawing from a Photo: Ocean Isle Beach

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I'm still experimenting with the conversion of photographs into line drawings. Most of the time I prefer the photo, but I do find the drawings interesting. I guess that goes back to my complete lack of drawing talent.

The picture above is the view from our room at Ocean Isle Beach in North Carolina last week. I think the drawing below rather neat.

You know George, each time you do this, it is so different. At times I like the photo better. But this time I like the drawing WAY better!!! It has the feel of long ago, maybe the 1800's, or maybe just timeless. It makes it a whole different thing. I have been really enjoying your pictures with a drawing.

Like Ginny, this time I like the drawing better. I just love the gazebo roof detail.
Hope you and Betsy enjoy the weekend.

That is one of the best drawings thus far. My daughter took a couple of art classes in school. They had them copy pictures fairly accurately by using graph paper. In other words, they would put grid lines on a picture and then paint one square at a time - - easier to break it down that way. I framed her first one,

I viewed the line drawing in the "Enlarged" mode, looks really nice !
Not sure why you are not satisfied with it. Very nice!
But I sure like to know what tool you use to do the conversion.
Have a nice weekend.

I love the first image (of course), and I really like the line art. I am thinking of my daughter and her interest in drawing. This feature would help he see the lines in nature. Neat stuff.

It's fascinating to see what your photo conversion can do. The drawing conversion really looks like a drawing.
