From My Archives: Elle Rose

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

One way to help winter days seem more bearable is to have photos from warmer seasons. Elle is a rose that we've had in our yard for several years now. It always puts on a beautiful show for us.

Soft and delicate, a beautiful stage of the flower.

This is an amazingly beautiful photo George! You have captured the color and detail perfectly. I have finally begun to understand (after looking at many of your photos) that a flower pic may be best taken at an angle and not straight on.

I thought of you a couple of days ago, we went to the Ace Hardware and the front yard had dozens of blooming roses, in January. and i forgot my camera, the one that rides in my pocket, was home on the counter.

Very nice George and thanks for the kind words for Barb. The meeting with the Mayo oncologist went very well today and chemo will definitely not be required. Things are looking up around here today. :)

Such a delicate pretty shade of pink with some darker hues for contrast. When you post the pinks and reds, the rose smell immediately comes to my nose.

That says something when you name your roses. As beautiful as this one is she needs a name.

like your new header, the white snow and the red berries. Something in winter for the birds?

The rose is the most romantic flower. It is used in poetry more than any other flower. It's also a favourite name for girls. Beautiful photo!
