Little River in the Smokies

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

When Betsy and I visited the Smokies last month, we stopped, as we usually do, to view the river. This time the water was high and very clear. I was attracted both by the white water flowing over the rocks and the unusual shape of the tree in the middle of the stream.

Something about the beauty of nature and especially water that seems to grab us as humans. This is a prime example.

Interesting, I enlarged. I guess small but wild. Strange that the trees are growing in such a river!! With all that moving water.

I love it! What is it about water that just draws us to it? I love how it looks different each time you look at it.

I love that river! And that is a MOST unusual tree in the middle.

That tree is quite interested, twisted by time and the force of water. It has probably lasted through many floods.

Run off can surely turn little trickles into beautiful mountain streams.

After enlarging the pic it was evident just how fast the water was flowing down stream.
Beautiful shot, George.

Very dramatic shot! So pretty, too.

Thanks for stopping by, by the way. Yes, the shootout was very exciting to watch. They do a great job. Hope you and Betsy get to come out some time!
