Rainbow Falls, North Carolina

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

Betsy and I almost missed this waterfall. We had crossed into North Carolina along US 129 when we saw a sign announcing Rainbow Falls. We would have missed it completely without the sign. I found a place to pull over and walked back to see the waterfall. It didn't have much water, but I like the way the sun glinted off the water that did come tumbling down.

I have my GPS alert me when I get close to a waterfall. I don't think it always works but I have it set that way. There wasn't much water going over the fall but it's still pretty.

Waterfalls are always beautiful whetehr they have a lot of water or just a little water. It's amazing how different they look at different times too. I'm glad you seen the sign and went back to take a picture of it.

To clarify:

Yes, I 'flew" the Tiger moth"
No, I didn't fly, I mean I was in the plane, but I wasn't allowed to touch the controls.
So I was just a passenger.
Still it was a lovely experience, a tick off my bucket list.

I like the same thing about it. Droplets, rather than a solid sheet - very delicate effect.

I thought when I looked at it that it looked very glassy.
The glinting sun on the water gives it a lovely touch!

Fanciful, I know ... but the falls look like a lacy curtain of water over the rock! Beautiful!
