Niagara River above the Falls
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
The Niagara River is almost as interesting as Niagara Falls. The river both above and below the falls is fascinating. This picture of the river was taken on Goat Island above the falls. You can see the brink of the Canadian (Horseshoe) Falls to the right.

I would love to see this, but at the stage of my life I just enjoy each day anywhere. That is a very pretty place based on the pictures I have seen.
I agree that the river is interesting, George. It has so much white water because of all the rocks. I LIKE this photo, especially enlarged.
It is beautiful thinking that the river will finally fall so beautifully.
George, I can hear the roar. i visited the falls when i was 8 years old and never forgot them. I am a big scardy cat and always have been. my grand daddy wanted us to go on the skycarts accross the falls, i screamed so loud, my mother stayed behind with me watching the water like this. then i screamed because grandaddy and my brother and aunt were gong to fall in the falls. i did like waling under the falls and feeling the rain. memories and thanks
The power of that river and the falls is absolutely amazing! I never tired of seeing it or even looking at photos of it.
Hi, I am a new follower. I also followed Betsy's blog and seen the other pictures of falls there plus the roses on your yards. they're awesome
That is a powerful river, and one to hold in respect.
Blessings,Ruth
I've been there and you can feel the power of the water!!
I had to enlarge this one. The water is a pretty blue, but wild! I'm assuming that Goat Island is home to many goats?
I always wondered how deep the river on top is?
Thats an awful lot of water coming down
I've never been to Niagra River or Falls. Looks like a beautiful place.
It is mind boggling to think how much power is passing through that one spot. Nice pic. I can almost hear the thunder.
I love this George! I remember seeing the scene for the first time many years ago. The scene and the rushing water take your breath away.
Good shot George. You really show us how choppy the water is above the falls.
Are you looking from the American side? back in the summer of 76, I was at the Canadian side, and I marvel at the majestic water fall.
