Sempervivum

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

We have several varieties of sempervivums (hens and chicks) in our yard. They can often be overlooked, but closer examination shows a plant with incredible details.

It is like understanding a person more after following him very closely.

This is a neat picture, maybe it's the lighting. It really emphasises the furry little prickles.

I love these little plants. My sister has them and they do really well for her. She shared some with me, and I am down to one now. Of course, she lives in Mississippi near the Tennessee border. I think your state will grown anything.

Mine are coming along nicely this year too! I have some in strawberry pots.

I grow them in my gardens too. The rosettes look like green flowers.

One of the few plants I don't have -- have always liked them, though.

it's simply amazing and adorable. It would take a lot of effort and time to grow a plant like this! Congratulations!
