Red Tree on the Parkway

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

In mid-October of last year Betsy and I took a drive along the Foothills Parkway, which parallels the Smoky Mountains. The altitude on the section we traveled is fairly low, so there wasn't much color along our route. I did, however, spot this pretty red tree near one of the overlooks.

And we love Autumn for this very reason. But look at your new icy header. Now that's winter. MB

Love the contrasts in color George.
Stay warm!

That is a beautiful splash of color. We may fuss about having to rake fallen leaves, but if it were not for deciduous trees, we would have no Autumn glories such as this one.

I opened the door this morning and everything is iced over.
We never had such cold weather here where I live for so long. But thankfully no snow.
A doze of red and green is welcome indeed lol

It is all the more pretty because it's among the green ones, a great contrast. But the SKY!!!

That is so pretty against the greenery and the dark blue sky.

The colors and that perfect blue sky are just gorgeous!
Thanks for reminding me how pretty nature can be as I sit here surrounded by gloomy grays.

Are you dreaming of a hot summer? February used to be my worst month in winter in Canada.

Fall pictures always amaze me, so much color - and the interesting part is right after everything usually turns white and gray, at least here when it is winter time. George, thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog the other day. Nice to be back. Anna :)
