Cattails at Abbott Lake
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
I took this picture of cattails on the shore of Abbott Lake when Betsy and I were at the Peaks of Otter Lodge in Virginia for her birthday this past August.
Nice cattails but I'm looking at the water beyond and wondering if the big bass are in shallow spawning? Actually I'm looking at two feet of snow and daydreaming of spring fishing. :)
Just the other day I saw some with the fur sticking out and I wanted my guys to pick one to see but they didn't. If they can be grown by the seaside they can collect ay oil that may be found there They can collect a lot.

Growing up I had a place near my house full of cattails- and red wing blackbirds- great image!
I have seen them in pictures but never seen with my own eyes.
Nice photo of the cattails. You must have captured them right after a rain.
