Flowers From Our Yard: Crocus

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I snapped these crocus blossoms last Saturday. I never expected to have crocus blooming in our yard in February, but I'm not complaining.

Oh, the beautiful color!!! It looks like intense indigo, but I have a feeling it's really purple. They are starting to come up here!!

Love the colors in your other blog today. I'm commenting here because for some reason my comment will not go through over there. Probably just a temporaray glitch.

Neither would I be. Flowers bring so much joy and these are so pretty. I am still watching my little oaks and I can't wait to be able to plant them outside.
But they are still too small.

Beautiful! Such a deep purple.
I keep looking for mine but as of yet there is nothing. I usually have to snap a quick photo before the deer wander through and nibble them off. ;(

They are beautiful, George. Ours are usually blooming right now and so are the daffs but they are buried under this dratted snow. MB

The first of many flowers to announce spring, the crocus is very beautiful and very brave to appear in this still unstable weather!
