Electric Shock Iris

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

We've been fortunate to enjoy many irises blooming in our yard this year. They've bloomed earlier than normal, and it seems that the blossoms have lasted longer than normal. This is Electric Shock, and I like the beautiful blue color.

The elegant ruffles of the iris remind me of formal wear. ...Not the tuxedos from the 70's, but the fancy gowns that you'd see on bridesmaids. :-)

You always seem to photograph your flowers at the perfect moment, when they are full but still fresh.

This is lovely, you've been fortunate indeed. I could only enjoy others' blooms as I don't have green fingers..even cactus died on me, haha..

but I'd love to try again one day.

:-D
