Fort Niagara

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

Yesterday I shared British Fort George in Canada. This is Fort Niagara, as seen from Fort George. The American invasion of Canada in 1813 was launched from Fort Niagara.

This picture was taken in 2002 when Betsy and I visited Fort George. We finally got to visit Fort Niagara in 2008.

Seeing the two forts really makes the fact that the two did go to war so real to me. But I still find it almost hard to believe.

Very interesting!

In Sri Lanka there are many Forts, built by the Dutch in the 17th century..

You know what? I HAVE visited Fort Niagara but not Fort George. War tools have changed but we are still killing people. Hmmmm.

I remember going to Fort Niagra when I was a youngster.
I like the sepia tones, it really suits the picture.
