Cattails at Abbott Lake

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I took this picture of cattails on the shore of Abbott Lake when Betsy and I were at the Peaks of Otter Lodge in Virginia for her birthday this past August.

I just love cattails! Did you know that their presence in wetlands indicates health?

Nice cattails but I'm looking at the water beyond and wondering if the big bass are in shallow spawning? Actually I'm looking at two feet of snow and daydreaming of spring fishing. :)

Love your cat-tails George, have you ever caught them when the seeds get blown?

Just the other day I saw some with the fur sticking out and I wanted my guys to pick one to see but they didn't.
If they can be grown by the seaside they can collect ay oil that may be found there They can collect a lot.

This is a great shot of the cattails. I have not seen those in long time. They look like wieners on a stick.
