Roaring Fork in the Smokies (2)

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

The picture above was taken in April as Betsy and I hiked along Roaring Fork in the Smokies in late April. The Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail behind Gatlinburg follows this beautiful stream along much of the way, providing many places to pull off and enjoy the beauty.

This picture is beautiful. I love the patterns on the rock on the left, and the two branches at the top, laying down. And of course the water looks diving!

Ginny Hartzler said...

Make that divine...although it does look good for diving, but a bit rocky.

A trip to the Smokies would not be complete for me if I didn't take the Roaring Fork Tour! I just love that route. For me it really takes you back in time.
A lovely image George!

Is this one taken with your fancy new filter, George? It's just amazing what you capture--especially the water. Agree with Betsy--looks like silk.

Wow, i wish we had discovered the motor trail when we were visiting Gatlinburg. That's a nice picture of a serene waterfall. We could use some of that water around here in Ohio - very dry!

If the weather is good I think in the fall I shall retune to that area once more. It's been a very long time since I was there and I loved it so!!
