How appropriate that you posted Dogwood at Easter time. Have you ever heard the legend of the dogwood? If you haven't, then for kicks I recommend that you google it. It's "legend" so I cannot attest to its veracity, but interesting, nonetheless.
Wow - we are quite a way from seeing dogwood blossoms - just getting leaves on trees right now. It seems like it has been a long winter up here, and spring, so far, has mainly meant rain...

just about anything is beautiful when painted by sunshine. the sun makes the colors brighter and makes color glow

This is one of the dark pink ones, which people around here seem to call red. We only have a few of this color in the area, they are so pretty!!!

That is one thing I miss about East Texas, where I came from. We always had so many dogwood trees in all colors. Here I seldom see them.
Dogwoods are to May what honeysuckle is to June....Such harbingers!!
