Inside the Tulip

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

I don't often take a close look at the inside of a tulip blossom, but this makes me want to look more often. A Purissima (white) tulip was wide open in our yard on a sunny afternoon when I captured this.

Tulips aren't so common downunder. Well ... not where I've been, anyway!! So this is a rare treat to see such a close up view of one! Gorgeous!!

Lovely picture to welcome the spring ..

My favorite part of this closeup is the pale greenish shadows you've captured on the tulip petals. Some flowers just beg for a closeup while others look wonderful en mass. A tulip, open or closed, is always a good closeup subject.

Between you and your camera, you really bring out the details of the flower. I have worked in my yard all day and not been visiting. I am so tired, but wanted to see what I might have missed.

A little girl told me there are fairies living inside the flowers.

Lovely...seldom that people bother to capture the beauty after the flowers have started to wither.
