First Glimpse of the Great Wall

The photo above is my first glimpse of the Great Wall of China. The picture was taken from a bus in 1987. Our hosts were taking us from Beijing to the gate in the wall at Badaling. I spotted this segment of the wall as our bus climbed into the mountains north of Beijing.

What a nice surprise, and coincidence! I am posting pictures of the Great Wall shortly! But this one looks so different from mine! I guess no two pictures are the same because It's so huge! I would be interested to know what month this was, because mine has none of the lush greenery that yours does!! Just bare trees and lots of fog. It was Chinese New Years
It must have been impressive against the sky like that.
These posts of the Great Wall are by far some of my most favorite ones George. It has a wonder about it that is captivating.
