Carolina in the Evening
August(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
If you've visited here very often, you could be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that Betsy and I very much enjoy the mountains. These particular mountains are near Franklin, North Carolina. This picture was taken while sitting on the deck of a cabin in the early evening.
Nothing could be finer . . .

You and Betsy are right to be mountain lovers! I grew up in a country with huge volcanoes and now I live in the flattest country of the world.
Nothing could be finer...
You have yours, and I have mine.
The Chinese have a saying, the scenery is so beautiful, that you don't need to eat.
The mountains are always a joy to visit through your photos, George.
Breathtaking!
amen to the nothing could be finer
So beautiful.....truly a blessing to enjoy such splendid views!

Just beautiful; could never tire of those views!
This shot is giving me the blues, I counted at least four of them!
That is a positively dreamy shot. I love seeing the blue mountains through your lenses.
On a clear day ( which are rare) we have a view of our local foothills. We don't call them mountains unless they are over 3 or 4 thousand feet. 120 miles away is Big Bear. The summit is about 8600 feet.
It's so amazing how the images of the sky, clouds, trees and mountains intertwined. Nature is really adorable
Hi George,large and fascinating landscape
No kiddin George.
NOTHING could be finer.
Thats the way to live.

Oh, so gorgeous!
Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina - - - - unless you live in Tennessee!!!! Love of mountains is in my blood, too. This is a beautiful shot!
How could anyone ever leave such a beautiful and serene place.....*sigh*
Thank you George, for sharing!
A little piece of heaven...
I surely hope that one of these days, I'm able to retire in them there mountains :)
Awesome photo George.
What a beautiful valley. I can almost feel the cool breeze and taste the Mint Julep. Great job.
Lovely... layers and layers of mountains!!!
That's a lovely shot of a serene time of the evening. Looking at the distant mountains is always relaxing and inspiring to me.
And now I can't get "Carolina In The Morning♫" out of my head!!!!
