Carolina in the Evening

August(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

If you've visited here very often, you could be forgiven for coming to the conclusion that Betsy and I very much enjoy the mountains. These particular mountains are near Franklin, North Carolina. This picture was taken while sitting on the deck of a cabin in the early evening.

Nothing could be finer . . .

You and Betsy are right to be mountain lovers! I grew up in a country with huge volcanoes and now I live in the flattest country of the world.

The Chinese have a saying, the scenery is so beautiful, that you don't need to eat.

That is a positively dreamy shot. I love seeing the blue mountains through your lenses.

On a clear day ( which are rare) we have a view of our local foothills. We don't call them mountains unless they are over 3 or 4 thousand feet. 120 miles away is Big Bear. The summit is about 8600 feet.

It's so amazing how the images of the sky, clouds, trees and mountains intertwined. Nature is really adorable

What a beautiful valley. I can almost feel the cool breeze and taste the Mint Julep. Great job.
