While taking us through the Temple of Heaven in Beijing in 1987, our host stopped this elderly gentleman to ask a question. The man struck me as a perfect example of 'old' China, so I quickly snapped his picture.

What a wonderful picture! There does seem to be a great amount of sorrow in his eyes, though. That's the first thing I noticed.
I guess this picture would be almost impossible to take today. China has modernized so fast!
I love old people. In Singapore I would love to walk tot he markets just to see them always sitting ion the same place with the same beautiful smiles. Glorious day for me.:)
