A Picture of Old China
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
While taking us through the Temple of Heaven in Beijing in 1987, our host stopped this elderly gentleman to ask a question. The man struck me as a perfect example of 'old' China, so I quickly snapped his picture.
The picture above was scanned from a slide.

Yep, national geographic stuff! :)
What a wonderful picture! There does seem to be a great amount of sorrow in his eyes, though. That's the first thing I noticed.
I guess this picture would be almost impossible to take today. China has modernized so fast!
I love old people. In Singapore I would love to walk tot he markets just to see them always sitting ion the same place with the same beautiful smiles. Glorious day for me.:)
Hi George,
Yes a wonderful portrait of China.
I agree with you. A lovely portrait.
You have a macro view of China.
Indeed!
Definitely a picture postcard for China in my book. :)
