Ruins of a Watchtower

I took this picture of the ruins of a watchtower on the Great Wall in 1987. At that time it was easy to see sections of the wall in ruins near many of the major tourist areas.
Your earlier pictures of the great wall were stunning. This one gives a feeling of desolation, doesn't it? Different emotions from different views of the same thing.

It was not destroyed by wars, but by time and human.
How I envy you! The Great Wall must be very impressive! The only wall I saw was The Hadrian Wall, which I thought very interesting at the time!

Well, it's easy to see why this high spot was chosen to build the watch tower on! I like this photo!
So much work put into this wall.
My husband said when he went to see it he saw the mongols guarding on the other side of the wall.lol
