Waterfalls Can Be Dangerous
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)
Waterfalls can be dangerous. Much of the literature warns about the dangers of getting too close. But the danger isn't just for people. I found this stag at the base of Slick Rock Falls in North Carolina, in December, 2009. It apparently had fallen over the falls.

Poor fellow!
Rocks like this with water can be extremely slippery..
George: A mature buck to not know what it was doing, one false step to the end.
How sad!
They are all rather dangerous if you get too close. You are very experienced and trust will always be safe.
The waterfalls are especially dangerous after heavy rains.
What a sad ending for a beautiful animal.
I can see the danger here.
Blessings,Ruth
What a gruesome picyure. And yet, a strange and sad sight, hard to resist a snap! Yes, I ALWAYS wonder about you and Betsy when I see these photos of you under falls and over them and everywhere else! I don't know how you do it. I constsntly injure myself just in the house.
Oh, poor thing. That is sad.
Poor guy. Sometimes "mother nature" can be so cruel.
I was about to say you posted my favorite picture until i read the story. he was so beautiful and sweet, makes me sad. the photo is perfect and so clear and sharp
That is so sad. I wouldn't have wanted to find it.
Was it injured or dead? Either way, it's sad. I am so frequently amazed at how animals climb in places and do things that I think are reckless, but I never see them slip and fall.
Oh geez Is it dead? Must be if its not moving.:(
ooh...poor animal...

Oh, how sad! Seems odd to say great shot under the circumstances but it is.
Sad. What a beautiful animal.
Oh the poor thing!
But I think I'd rather hear of them dying like this rather than because of man.
