Phlox in the Rock Garden

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

When Betsy and I bought this house in 2002, we inherited a rock garden on a steep slope on one side of the driveway. Because of that slope the garden contained mostly rocks and weeds.

The rocks are still there, but we've added ground cover between them. This mound of pink phlox brightened our yard back in April of this year.

That is just lovely George. Phlox is one of the first plants to bloom in the spring here in GA.

Phlox in the rocks, eh? Speaking of rock gardens, I planted a bunch of rocks in our backyard, but couldn't get anything to grow. ;-)

Phlox grows wild all over the mountains around here, and it seems to love rocky areas. Seems like a natural for your rock garden. Love the vivid color.

Amazing how these flowers can claim such rough terrain and make it their own, make it beautiful.
