Arkansas River Valley
(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it. Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)
Betsy and I visit Mount Nebo in Arkansas every year, usually in the late winter or early spring. We visit at that time because waterfalls usually have a pretty good flow, and we practically have the mountaintop to ourselves. This picture was taken in February, 2010, and shows the Arkansas River in the valley below. There weren't any colorful leaves on the trees, but the sky was a gorgeous blue.

You won't be able to see nearly as much of that landscape when those trees are full.
The blue of the sky is so pleasing.
wow...that view goes on forever!
i love the patchwork effect of the land, i had to enlarge to see that part of the photo. truly beautiful
I, too, love the color of the sky in the spring - - - seems washed clear with some of the most brilliant blue. After the pollen starts, it tends to haze the atmosphere a bit.
Optimas cores de céu, muito bem =)
what a peaceful shot!

Have a fabulous day!

Fantastic shot George. You can really see for miles and miles.
It's lovely if you can enjoy the view without many people around.

Super views from up there even without leaves.
I never noticed the river in your or Betsy's photos before - how wonderful that makes the view!
Now that's quite a view from up there!
Maybe you don't have to visit OZ afer all ... dry trees and splendid blue sky looks mighty familiar!!!
Beautiful view.
That is a very beautiful sky. Patti and I have to get to that area.
Lovely view, George. I guess I ought to be out looking for waterfalls soon too. Thanks for the reminder!
Very nice. We too love valley vistas and rushing waterfalls...:)
The combination of the sky and valley is just beautiful!
You can see far far away.. super view
It's a magnificent scene!
I'm actually glad the trees are bare, or they'd have hidden the patterns of the land.
I bet the air is fresh and crisp that time of year at that elevation, too. What a lovely retreat, and such a beautiful way to clear the mind, and breathe deep!
It looks so serene!
Yes, great photo, I love this great view. Greetings.
