Above Bald River Falls

(Note:  This picture may be enlarged by clicking on it using Control-click or right-click.)

I captured this image of Bald River above the falls a few years ago while on a hike in the area.  I did some experimenting with the photo (something I do fairly often and finally decided to make it appear more like a poster.  This is the result.

A March Hike

(Note:  This picture may be enlarged by clicking on it using Control-click or right-click.)

Several years ago, when both Betsy and I were younger and could still do some hiking, we celebrated my birthday by visiting Desoto State Park near Fort Payne, Alabama.  While there we took several hikes, one of which was along the west fork of Little River.  It was on that hike that I captured this image of the March scenery along the river.

Waterloo Falls

(Note:  This picture may be enlarged by clicking on it using Control-click or right-click.)

When Betsy and I were younger, we collected waterfalls.  We visited as many as we could find, usually getting in some hiking along the way.  We quickly discovered that winter is a good time to search for waterfalls in our area.  The vegetation isn’t as dense, which make it easy to see some of those that are “hidden’.

One February afternoon several years ago we set out to find Waterloo Falls, which is not too far from Cookeville, Tennessee.  As you can see from the picture above, we did find it after doing some bush-whacking along the river bank.  Waterloo Falls is wide, although not very high.

After leaving Waterloo Falls we followed the river down stream and were rewarded by coming across a much smaller waterfall Little Waterloo Falls.  All in all we had a very rewarding day “waterfall hunting”.

Daddys Creek

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

In early November of last year Betsy and I took a hike along Daddys Creek here in Fairfield Glade with Betsy’s son Mark and Robin.  It was a beautiful afternoon, and I was able to capture this scene of some of the remaining autumn colors and reflections in the water of the creek.

A Beautiful November Sky

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

In early November My Beautiful Bride and I took a hike along Daddys Creek here in the Glade with Betsy’s son Mark and Robin.  It was in the afternoon when we started our hike, and I got this picture of the moon in a beautiful blue sky at the trailhead on the bluff above the creek.
